Hillbilly Pride Runs Deep...

The students did an amazing job at HPRD Friday. I was very proud of them. The pictures were taken at different angles and the lighting in some of the pictures is off. I am going to post them anyway because you can still tell who is in them. I want to thank the parents that helped their children practice their parts at home. They did GREATTTT!!! These students participated in HPRD last semester.

Mrs. Johnnie received the Going the Extra Mile Award. We would be lost without her.

Victor received the Student of the Month Award for February.

I wanted to thank all of you for helping and sending money for the party. The students really seemed to enjoy it. We all survived and had a good time.

Witnessing a Piece of History...

The students came into class this morning asking about the inauguration. They were fascinated by the entire process. I let the students who had completed their reports watch some of the highlights before the swearing in ceremony. They thought it was really cool that Pres. Obama chose to lay his hand on the Lincoln Bible during the swearing in. Quentin really enjoyed this part because Pres. Lincoln is his favorite president. It was so amazing seeing the excitement and joy on their faces because they were watching history take place. The students' fascination with wanting to learn more about these important issues in our lives really impresses me. All of the students were given the choice to watch during the actual swearing in ceremonies. I was very proud of them. I feel so blessed to be able to have such wonderfully bright students in my class.
